Install Eclipse for OSB development on a Remote machine (windows 7) - 11.1.1.7


Installation of OEPE


1.      Download full OEPE installer. Full OEPE Installer comes with Oracle WebLogic Server, Oracle Coherence, and the Oracle ADF Runtime - 
oepe-indigo-win32.exe

2. Download the compatible OSB – ofm_osb_generic_11.1.1.7_disk1_1of1.zip

3. Start the OEPE Executable

4. Create a New Oracle Home

5. Choose the Custom Installer from the Install Type Screen as only the eclipse and the supporting components needs to be installed on the Remote machine

6. Choose Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse from the ‘Choose Products’ Dialog

7. Select the JDK version

8. Retain the Default option in the subsequent screens

9. There is a screen which asks for Installing Node manager as a service. Select the option as ‘No’.

10. Review the installation summary screen which lists the components that are going to be installed and then proceed to the installation

11. Once the OEPE is installed , proceed to the installation of OSB

12. Unzip the downloaded OSB installer zip and click on setup.exe

13. Specify the correct java location

14. Specify the OSB home within the oracle home created above on step 4

15. Continue with installation process


Post installation steps


Pre-requisite : Successful installation of OEPE and OSB

1. Start eclipse to make sure that OSB Plugin has been created. In the top right drop down you should see OSB as an option.

2. Adding the Remote server

a. Right Click on the servers tab at the bottom and select New->Server

b. Select the server to be added and add the configuration details

c. The new server added should show the status as ‘Started’
